Our Proponent
John Donohue is a veteran of World War Two, and served three years in prison for the possession of just seven marijuana cigarettes in the 1950s. John believes that nobody should be jailed for a victimless act. He states unequivocally that "Using marijuana is not a crime."
You can make the difference!
This is basically a volunteer grassroots effort to bring sense back to government.
We need your help (and just a modest amount of funding) to make sensible public poicy.
How many signatures of registered California voters do you think you can gather?
How many of your friends and associates will gather signatures for the effort?
When the petitions are printed in early October, we need to get them into your hands and those of thousands of volunteers immediately. We have only five months, meaning we need to collect over one hundred thousand (100,000) valid signatures every month through February in order to assure our place on the ballot in November 2010.
Please contact the Common Sense campaign with your realistic pledge of how many signatures you will gather from October 2009 through February 2010.
FInancial pledges are also welcome, as we will soon be facing the cost of printing official petitions in the correct legal format to qualify the Common Sense intitiative for the California ballot.
